Country Dialing Codes, Currencies and Postcodes

Find dialing codes, currencies and postcode formats of major trading countries in one table.

Why this table helps

When filling in consignee or shipper details, the most common mistakes are in phone codes and postcode formats. A missing or wrong postcode can delay door delivery and raise questions at customs.

Postcode formats

The table shows an example postcode for each country. Some countries, such as the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, do not generally use postcodes; there, write the area and P.O. Box in full.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a phone number in international format?

Start with + and the country code, and drop the leading 0 of the number. For example, 0216 455 74 88 in Türkiye becomes +90 216 455 74 88.

Why are currency codes three letters?

ISO 4217 gives each currency a three-letter code; using these codes on invoices and letters of credit avoids confusion.
